Raster art, also known as bitmap art, is a type of digital graphic created using raster image software programs, such as Adobe Photoshop. Raster graphics are made up of a grid of pixels, where each pixel contains a specific color value.
Unlike vector graphics, raster graphics cannot be scaled up without losing quality or becoming pixelated, as the pixels will become visible when the image is enlarged. However, raster graphics are ideal for creating complex images with varying colors and shading, such as photographs or digital paintings.
When creating raster art, it's important to choose the appropriate resolution for the intended use of the image. For example, images intended for print should have a higher resolution (usually 300 dpi or more) than images intended for web use (usually 72 dpi).
